Benefits Of Getting Involved with Dev/Graphics Meetings – Ben Smart
As part of my schedule, I attend the weekly Dev/Graphics team meeting where each person finds a website that stands out to them and talks about why. Some of the possible elements to a site or piece of code that may stand out include:
- Design
- Fonts
- Animations
- Transitions
- Colours
- Responsive
- etc
Having this meeting on a weekly basis gives the Devs and Graphics team the chance to discuss what they like and how we can possibly implement new ideas into client websites to make each website independently unique whilst also fitting the style the client wants.
The main reason I decided I wanted to take part in this meeting is to better understand different aspects of the business that I maybe don’t deal with so often. I feel that it’s important to learn as much about how the company works as you possibly can and there are two reasons I think this;
- Understanding different aspects of a business especially one like ours where we deal with new and existing customers on a daily basis means you have a higher chance of being able to answer any questions a customer might ask.
- It helps you broaden your horizons experience-wise and keeps your role from feeling stagnant as no day is the same.
In conclusion, I am glad to be participating in these weekly meetings as it has provided me with a new understanding of how different aspects of Blue Whale Media work.
