Christmas Food Bank at Blue Whale Media 2019

At Blue Whale Media, we love to give back to our community, especially around the festive period. We work alongside a diverse range of different charitable trusts to provide funding and donations on behalf of our team at Christmas. One of the many things that we do around Christmas is to hold a food collection bank at our office in Birchwood Boulevard for a local charity. This year, we chose to give to WODAC Warrington Open Doors at Christmas, a charity that works to help people living on the streets or below the poverty line this Christmas.

The Charity

Every year we feel that it is essential to give back to your community in any way that you can. Our charity work is something that we are exceptionally proud of and wish to expand on in the coming years as our company grows.

This year we chose WODAC Warrington Open Doors at Christmas as our charity. Homelessness has risen exponentially over recent years and with the nights growing longer and colder, our team wanted to ensure that we helped an organisation that assisted some of the most vulnerable in our society.

The Food Bank

Within the office, our two team leaders had decorated a large box ready for donations. Office Manager, Eve, was quick to create an easy to follow list to help our staff members understand what they could and could not donate. Largely non perishable items, the box quickly filled with food, soaps and toiletries to help the homeless in our local and surrounding areas.

Our Office

Our team looked into our cupboards and did a few runs to Asda as a collective to fill the box with a selection of warming and easy to make meals. A variety of canned goods and non perishable items were donated and we are incredibly proud to help our local charities in any way that we can.

Lewis, our jolly elf, also handed out flyers to surrounding businesses and companies to donate anything that they could. Next year, we hope to include more of our neighbours in donating and to offer the charity a larger donation.

When the box was full, two of our management staff, Lewis and Eve, took the box to the charity (dressed in Christmas hats of course). The reception was warm and inviting and we are so happy that we were able to donate to such a wonderful organisation and a worthy cause.

Conclusion

As the year comes to an end, the whole team at Blue Whale Media are thankful for such a wonderful 2019 and we are proud to have given back a little bit to our community. We believe in investing in our local area and caring for others. Next year, we hope to cast a wider net and provide a larger donation for our charity of choice. We wish everyone at the WODAC Warrington Open Doors at Christmas and all of our neighbours on Birchwood Boulevard a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
