Blue Whale Media’s Latest Project with Local Charity Warrington VIP

We have had so much fun working on our latest projects with Warrington VIP. We have recently designed and are in the process of building their new website. We want to create an inclusive and accessible space for people to find out more information about the fantastic work that the charity does!

Warrington Visually Impaired People (VIP) is a charitable organisation supporting the visually impaired community of Warrington since 1923. They offer a huge range of services for blind and partially sighted people.

Our videography team has also been busy creating and filming a promotional video for the charity showcasing the facilities and the services they provide for their members. On Tuesday 13th of September, our video and drone team set off to visit the community centre to film different aspects of the facilities. Whilst Anthony (our senior videographer) joined Roy, the volunteer bus driver, on his way to pick up the members from their homes and bring them to the centre.

Then lunch was served! The volunteer staff prepared a delicious three-course lunch for the members to enjoy. On the menu was vegetable soup with croutons, roast beef dinner and finally, Eton mess for dessert!

Once lunchtime was over, our video team interviewed the staff to learn more about the charity’s great work for the community. We captured an interview with Fiona, the CEO, and she explained, “They become kind of part of your family, you know? … It’s lovely to offer that support and look at their houses and see what you can do to make their life better. That’s what it’s all about.”

We also spoke with the wonderful Dorothy, who has been a member of Warrington VIP for over 10 years. She joined the community when she began to lose her vision and regularly attends the charity’s weekly Tuesday & Thursday lunch and quizzes. She told us: “The most important thing for me, as I have been losing my sight over the years, have been the visitors that come to the house… to read and write for you. That is very important to me!”

Later on, our video team was able to film the weekly quiz and raffle to include in the new promotional video for their website and social media.

Our team had a fantastic day capturing the amazing work that Warrington VIP does for the community.
