Blue Whale Media’s Growth in the third quarter of 2018

2018 has been an extremely busy year for Blue Whale Media and there is so much still to come before the turn of the year.

So far, the team have accomplished many educational accomplishments from Degrees to Level 4 BTEC’s and becoming a drone pilot. Gary and I couldn’t be prouder of the team and strive to achieve even more in 2019. In addition to this, we have taken part in many charity events in 2018 raising £3000+ for different charities over the 10 events.

The development of the design department

This year the team has more than doubled in size. Going from myself, Harry and Lewis early in the year to adding Sam in March 2018, Luke in June 2018 and now we have two new web designers in Matthew and Calum.

You may wonder what’s drove this growth? We have made 2018 the year for training and development of the team members. We have focused heavily on making sure they had received all the latest training for their specialities. This has allowed us to develop some fantastic websites this year from Wellies and Windbreaks to the new Whisky Collectables website.

The team also has a new manager in Lewis Jarvis who has been with the company for over two years now and is a great talent to not only continue to grow this team but also keep them focused on striving to be the best they can be and develop the best work they can.

The sales team has arrived

For many years Blue Whale Media has survived on having just Gary as the salesperson but that changed in 2018. We now have two other members in the sales team, David & Joe. Whilst they may be polar opposites in every way they work fantastically as a team together and the growth in website builds and different services is a testament to their success.

They have also received a lot of support from the marketing team who have their own accomplishments this year that I will talk about shortly. But with these two departments working together there is nothing to stop the sales team from achieving great things.

Gary is also still the main sales person but has had a great support network around him this year with a restructure and growth of the account management team to ensure that all customers are looked after closely after the point of sale.

Marketing Department

This area of the business has changed massively in 2018. Eve Billington has now completed her Level 4 Marketing course and will be starting a course with the Institute of Marketing Executives in 2019. With this, she has also been promoted to the role of Head Of Marketing. She is now taking full control of Blue Whale Media’s marketing budget in 2019 and we can’t wait to see what she achieves.

With this new role came new team members in Holli & Amber. Holli has completed her first level course and is now moving onto the advanced level in 2019. Amber our in-house content writer joined in July 2018 replacing Toby who has moved onto a fantastic opportunity following the experience he gained with Blue Whale Media Ltd. Amber obtained her Degree earlier this year and has been creating fantastic content for Blue Whale Media and its clients ever since.

What’s in store for Blue Whale Media in the final quarter of 2018?

We have exciting things ahead after taking on two multi-national companies in addition to this we also have our biggest business fair yet taking place on November 1st 2018 at Haydock racecourse. The marketing and management team have been working very hard to ensure Blue Whale Media looks it best at this event and we hope to see you all there.

We are quickly approaching Christmas and everything that comes with it. This is one of the busiest times for most of our clients and lots of marketing preparation has been taking place to get us ready for this.

All in all, we can’t wait to see how Blue Whale Media rounds off 2018.
