Logo Design Philosophy
Our logo design philosophy centered on authenticity, strength, and elegance. It needed to encapsulate the tactile nature of woodworking, the precision of joinery, and the beauty that comes from creating with wood. The design strategy was to forge a logo that resonates with Kerf’s clientele, appealing to those who appreciate the luxury of custom craftsmanship and the warmth and durability of wood in their spaces.
Design Elements
Colour Palette: We chose a warm, earthy colour scheme that evokes the natural beauty of wood, from the deep browns of walnut to the soft beiges of maple. This palette reflects the variety and versatility of the materials Kerf works with, grounding the brand in the natural elements of their craft.
Typography: The typography is robust and straightforward, mirroring the honesty and integrity of Kerf’s work. A font that balances modernity with a touch of tradition was selected to symbolise the seamless blend of old and new woodworking techniques.
Iconography: The logo, that captures the essence of carpentry and joinery is not just a symbol but a storytelling element, conveying Kerf’s specialisation in transforming wood into art and function.
