Track My Paws

PET OWNERS
Welcome to Track My Paws, we are the UK’s largest database for microchipped pets.

Getting your pet microchipped is the best way of making sure you’re reunited if they get lost or stolen. At Track My Paws, our team of highly-trained and experienced staff means that pet owners throughout the country can trust our reliable microchips. They will be best suited for your pet, as a microchip is a more permanent way to identify your pet and keep them safe.

Should your dog ever need to be identified by a vet or rescue centre, their microchip can be scanned to display their details.

DO I HAVE TO GET MY PET MICROCHIPPED?
If you have a dog, yes, since 2016, dogs over eight weeks old need to be microchipped by law. It’s essential to ensure your dog is fitted with a microchip by the time it’s eight weeks old; it is illegal if you don’t get your dog microchipped and you can be fined up to £500 if your dog is not microchipped.

Pet owners are also responsible for keeping the details of the pet who is microchipped up to date, for example, you need to update the information if you move house or rehome your animal, new phone number, etc.

It’s not a legal requirement to have other pets microchipped, however, we would always recommend you do. Cats especially like to wander and it’s easy for them to get lost if they get frightened, or get inside a vehicle by accident. Microchipping is the best way of being reunited with your pet if you are ever separated, so we would always recommend getting your pet microchipped.

THE BENEFITS OF A MICROCHIP
Unlike a collar and nametag which can be removed, a microchip is a permanent form of identification for your dog. Many pets who are found without a microchip are unable to be returned to their owner and often end up rehomed. As long as you keep your details up to date, your dog can be identified and you can be contacted straight away, alleviating unnecessary stress for both you and your pet.

Track My Paws offers gold standard assistance from our professional team 24/7, 365 days a year, as well as providing sympathy and compassion when your pet becomes lost or stolen.
