Fun & Creative Ideas You Can Use for Your Business’s Instagram Story

Well well well, so you’re looking to venture into the world of Instagram stories. Now, you may be thinking that Instagram stories are a pointless feature on the platform. You have been mistaken, my friend. Very mistaken.

They can be a fun and exciting way to showcase your business and your services in a less formal way. Whilst your stories should still adhere to your brand identity they can be a way to show a little more personality and learn more about your audience. In this blog, I will be going over some playful and creative ideas you can try out for your business’s Instagram stories.

Product Promotion

You can use your stories to remind your audience of any upcoming products you may be releasing. Getting exposure for your product launch may be difficult as you don’t want to be spamming your follower’s feeds as this may result in a loss of followers. Yikes. No one wants that.

With Instagram’s handy new feature you can send your followers directly to a specific web page. Getting your audience from point A to point B is, as you know, the most important part of product marketing. This little feature can be a great way to increase engagement through to your website.

Polls

These little beauties are a great way to get your followers to interact with your content. You can ask a question to engage your audience: either make it about your business or even ask fun and easy questions (something that people don’t have to think too much about). Instagram polls are a great way to keep your audience interested in your stories.

Throwback

Everyone loves a little “Throwback Thursday”. Showing posts from 1 or 2 years ago allows your followers to see how far you have come. It can be heartwarming to reflect on the past and learn from what you have done previously. Bringing back things you once loved but had completely forgotten about could be a great new campaign.

Behind The Scenes

You may have spent hours curating the perfect Instagram feed. But people love to see the work in progress! This is a great way to humanise your business and show people all the hard work that you produce. Posting a little time-lapse or the various stages of the finished product can really help to show your followers that there is a person behind the scenes without interrupting your main Instagram content.

These are just a few ideas you can use to spice up your Instagram stories. But don’t forget to still follow your brand guidelines and post content that is relevant to your business. Creating strong and interesting graphics for your stories can be done through additional design platforms such as Canva. This is a great way to ensure your stories are following the same guidelines as your main posts.
