Reasons Why Your Website Is Not Ranking

Reasons Why Your Website Is Not Ranking

The ultimate goal of an SEO website is to have a better ranking in search engine results, which will help you get more traffic and transactions. However, there can be times when your website does not rank despite all your efforts.

As any good Liverpool SEO expert would know, trying to rank your page in Google’s search result is not an easy job by all means. It can become quite impossible at times, with millions of other websites trying to achieve the same thing as you.

With so much time and effort going into your website, you cannot afford not to rank on the first page of Google’s search results. If you’re facing the same issue, you’ll be glad you’re here. There are plenty of reasons why this happens, and it is actually quite common. We’ll be talking about those points right here, which will hopefully solve your issues. Without further ado, let’s get started:

Duplicate Content

One of the main reasons why pages do not rank is because they have duplicate contents. Putting up duplicate contents is one of the worst things you can do for your page. Why? Because it can cause both the original and duplicate pages to split their rank, which can result in a low ranking.

If there are too many similar pages online, Google will not be able to rank all those pages. And when this happens, Google will choose the original page to rank and leave out the duplicate page. But at times, Google might even rank the wrong page.

This is why it is important to check that no other website is copying your page besides making sure that you’re not copying. You can check if a page is copying your website by using online tools dedicated to finding duplicate content across the web.

Not Mobile-Friendly

It’s a universal fact that mobile users are overtaking desktops in web searches. That is why you need to have a mobile-friendly website.

If you haven’t made your website mobile-friendly yet, it’s high time for you to make that transition. Or you might risk losing a lot of traffic since your rankings will be impacted.

Your website should be what we call “responsive” in SEO terms. This means that if you open your site on a tablet or a phone, it should transition to the shape of that smaller device.

Inconsistent Content Creation

Creating more content regularly is essential for your page to rank on Google’s search results. You might be writing and publishing new posts every now and then. Or maybe you put out videos sometimes. However, that may not be enough for your page to rank.

You should make a new blog post or any kind of content regularly. The more content you can put out, the better it is. You can make a schedule on your calendar and create content based on that.

It will, of course, take a lot of time and effort for that, but it is still worth it if you want your page to rank.

Lack of High-Quality Backlinks

Backlinks play an important role in influencing a site’s ranking. And most importantly, backlinks should also be of high quality and not just focusing on quantity.

The more high quality backlinks you have, the more reliable and trustworthy your website will look. And as such, search engines like Google will consider this while ranking your website in search results.

If you think you have a good amount of backlinks, but your website is not performing well, it’s probably because those backlink sources are not of high quality.

Lack of social media activity

If there is no social media activity on your website, it will not rank as well as it should, regardless of how good it looks. A lack of this element may seem like your website is not credible enough. Social media activity on your website is very similar to a backlink since it adds to your page’s credibility.

If you want your page to rank higher, you can create profiles/accounts for your business on social media websites like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. And then, you can provide links to your website on those accounts.

Poor Website Speed

There is nothing more annoying than trying to load a super slow website. Hence, when you’re building a new website, you should make sure that your website is optimized for faster loading time. If your website takes too much time to load, you might lose traffic and ultimately fail to rank on Google’s search results.

If your page takes longer than 5 seconds to load, Google might even penalize your website. Google naturally ranks a website on how fast they load because the search engine doesn’t want to make people wait.

So the faster your website loads, the better it will rank.

Your Website Is Not Indexed

If your website is new and still not ranking on Google, it could be because Google hasn’t indexed it. You can find out if your website is indexed or not by simply typing your site’s address, for example, yourwebsite.com. Do not include “www.” and “/.”

If your website is showing up in the search result, then your website has been indexed. But if it does not appear anywhere, then it is yet to be indexed by Google.

Your page will eventually be indexed, but it can even take weeks for Google to notice your website. What you can do is go to Google Search Console and type in your site’s link. This way, your website will show up on Google’s radar, and it will soon be indexed.

Conclusion

Trying to find a good ranking on Google’s search results will always be a struggle. However, there are several things you can do to improve your site’s visibility. If your page fails to rank on search results, just follow the tips provided above. Hopefully, this blog helps in solving your issue.
