How Semantic Search Will Impact SEO

Even without understanding the complexity of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), most business owners are aware of the impact it has on conversion rates and online presence.

SEO Warrington has in the past stated that SEO was all about putting the right amount of targeted keywords in your content. SEOers would do extensive research on the target keywords then make use of them. Sometimes the content would not even have to make sense. As long as the target keywords were everywhere around their website, they are good to go.

This resulted in SEOers writing content only for the sake of Google search. This, in turn, caused users to get frustrated because when they searched for a query, what they got were very irrelevant results.

Due to this, Google decided to implement algorithms updates. These updates would go hand in hand with other specific requirements to be able to rank reputable websites. With this, SEOers had no choice but to produce relevant content for websites if they wanted to rank high.

Later on, Google came up with a way in which it did not only look for content to give relevant search results but also looked at the intent behind the query. Google has also come up with different complex ways to search for queries like voice-to-text. These complex searches functionality is what they now call semantic search.

Easier, more intuitive search that yields relevant results

Web users can now search for complex queries and get relevant search results with ease. Semantic search did not search for the user’s exact keywords but would try to figure out the intent behind the query.

Better content

The idea behind every algorithm update that Google made was to improve customer satisfaction when they searched for queries.

Since the hummingbird update, where search queries were more about user intent rather than target keywords, SEOers, such as SEO Warrington, are writing relevant content so as to be ranked higher.

Target keywords that do not make sense will no longer fool Google.

Better quality results

Due to the better quality content that is being published, even the search results will be of better quality.

This can be attested to the fact that after a search query, Google will display snippets of the content of the website to make it easier to choose your website of choice.

Better value for users

Semantic search looks to create great value for their users by getting them what they want; something that addresses their specific concerns. That is why SEOers will go through a great deal to ensure they optimize their websites so that they can add value to web users.

Less keyword emphasis

As much as semantic search does not solely rely on exact keyword match, keywords are still important. However, keywords will not be the end of your search. Google will use them to try and better comprehend the intent behind those keywords for optimum results.

These are just but a few of the benefits of using semantic search. As earlier stated, making use of semantic search will not only boost your online presence and rankings but also push traffic your way which could lead to better conversions.
