E-commerce means the sale of goods and services through the internet. An e-commerce website is a website that allows people to buy and sell products, services and digital products and content using the internet. Any site that you can buy goods from is considered an e-commerce website.
Differences between an e-commerce website and a normal website
One of the biggest differences between e-commerce and a normal company website is that while a normal website only contains information about the company and so if a customer wants to purchase a product they can only do so by contacting the company. Whereas an e-commerce website allows people to easily purchase products without having to contact the company.

Consumer to consumer:A consumer to consumer website is a website that a consumer uses to sell products or services to another consumer. For example ebay allows customers to sell used products to other customers.
Consumer to business: A consumer to business website is a website that a consumer uses to sell products or services to businesses. For example google adsense allows consumers to be commissioned to display ads on their sites.
