Blue Whale Media is delighted to present the art direction for The Linen Group, a leading UK-based linen cleaning business known for its impeccable service quality and commitment to sustainability. The Linen Group specialises in providing premium linen cleaning services. Our goal was to create an art direction that not only reflects the brand’s high standards but also distinguishes it in the competitive market.

Art Direction Philosophy

The art direction for The Linen Group is anchored in the principles of elegance, sustainability, and cleanliness. We sought to convey the premium nature of their services while also highlighting the company’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. This approach was meticulously designed to resonate with The Linen Group’s target clientele who value both luxury and sustainability.

Colour Palette and Design Elements

The art direction for The Linen Group is characterised by a sophisticated and nature-inspired colour palette, alongside design elements that communicate the brand’s core values:

Colour Palette

Plum: A rich, luxurious shade that brings depth and sophistication to the brand, plum signifies the premium quality of The Linen Group’s services. This distinctive colour sets the brand apart, adding a touch of elegance and refinement.

Dark Green: Symbolising the company’s dedication to environmental sustainability, dark green reflects The Linen Group’s commitment to green practices and its respect for nature. This colour reinforces the brand’s position as an eco-conscious provider in the linen cleaning industry.

White: Representing cleanliness, purity, and simplicity, white is central to the colour palette. It not only complements the other colours but also reinforces the fundamental essence of the linen cleaning service—immaculate and pristine linens.

Design Elements

The branding incorporates clean, minimalistic lines and textures that evoke the softness and quality of freshly cleaned linens. Imagery used in the branding features close-up shots of textiles, emphasising texture, quality, and the tactile experience of linen. Environmental motifs are subtly integrated into the visual identity, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to sustainability.

The designs for Warrington VIP’s 100th-anniversary celebration embodies a heartfelt tribute to a century of dedication and service to the visually impaired community. Inspired by the organisation’s unwavering commitment to empowerment and inclusion, each element of the design exudes warmth, compassion, and resilience. 

Moreover, the design serves as a visual testament to Warrington VIP’s legacy of advocacy and support. In essence, the stationary design encapsulates the spirit of community, resilience, and hope that defines Warrington VIP’s journey over the past century.

Bach 95 reflects a harmonious blend of indulgence and health-conscious living. Each element of the design exudes freshness and vitality. Clean lines and modern typography convey a sense of sophistication, while vibrant colour schemes evoke the refreshing taste and zest of Bach 95’s signature beverages.

Engaging graphics and playful branding elements convey a sense of fun and adventure, inviting consumers to embrace a guilt-free indulgence without compromising on flavour or quality. It serves as a visual invitation to savour the moment and enjoy the crisp, refreshing taste of Bach 95 beer, guilt-free.

Fuel Hub is not just a meal service; it’s a lifestyle choice for those who seek both nourishment and flavour in their fast-paced lives. Blue Whale Media was tasked with encapsulating the vibrant and energetic essence of Fuel Hub in its logo design. The challenge was to create a visual identity that conveys the brand’s commitment to fuelling bodies with high-quality, nutritious foods.

Brand Vision

Fuel Hub aims to stand out in the meal service industry as a provider of not just food, but fuel for a life well-lived. They envision a world where fast food is synonymous with health food, and their branding needed to reflect this revolutionary approach.

Logo Design Philosophy

Our design philosophy was informed by the concepts of vitality, energy, and clarity. The logo had to resonate with health-conscious individuals looking for a quick and healthy eating option. We aimed to convey the message that Fuel Hub is the smart choice for anyone who values their health as much as their time.

Design Elements

Colour Palette: The logo employs a bold red colour that captures attention and symbolises energy and passion. The red is complemented by the black text which adds a modern, powerful dynamic to the brand message. White is used to balance and bring clarity to the design, ensuring the message ‘FUEL YOUR BODY’ is easily legible and impactful.

Typography: The word ‘FUEL’ is featured in a large, bold font, dominating the visual space and emphasising the brand’s core value proposition. ‘HUB’ follows in a smaller but equally weighted font, maintaining the logo’s balance and focus. The tagline ‘FUEL YOUR BODY’ employs a simpler sans-serif typeface, delivering the brand’s message in a clear and straightforward manner.

Iconography: In this design, the art direction steered clear of traditional food imagery, opting instead for a striking colour block that captures the viewer’s attention. This bold visual approach reflects the brand’s emphasis on high-impact, high-energy lifestyle choices.

The Fuel Hub logo is designed to make a bold statement. It suggests that choosing Fuel Hub is not merely about eating but about choosing an energetic and vibrant lifestyle. The striking red backdrop commands attention, signifying a break from the mundane and a move towards an energized, health-focused way of life.

Premier Boxing – Brand Artefacts in Premises

Premier Boxing & Muay Thai is renowned for its excellence in providing top-tier martial arts training. Blue Whale Media has been entrusted to craft a suite of brand artefacts that echo the vigor and precision of the sport while maintaining a sleek and professional aesthetic within the training facilities.

Brand Vision

The vision for Premier Boxing & Muay Thai was to create a space where the energy of combat sports is palpable, inspiring athletes the moment they step into the premises. The branding needed to reflect the intensity of boxing and Muay Thai while also fostering an environment of discipline and respect.

Art Direction Philosophy

The art direction was guided by the raw essence of martial arts, tempered with the elegance of a premier training environment. Every element in the space was designed to motivate and resonate with the inner warrior spirit, embodying a sense of purpose and anticipation.

Design Elements

Colour Palette: The consistent use of red across branding artefacts stands out for its associations with energy and passion, while the accents of black and white maintain a clean and modern look. This deliberate choice in the palette instills a sense of power and sophistication throughout the gym environment.

Typography: The typeface used in the logo and branding artefacts is bold and impactful, designed to be visible and assertive in various contexts—from large signage to equipment branding. The word ‘PREMIER’ is especially prominent, reinforcing the brand’s stature as a leader in the field.

Iconography: The emblem, featuring an abstracted figure in a stance ready for action, is used as a recurring motif. It serves as a powerful symbol of the athlete’s journey and is strategically placed to serve as a constant source of inspiration within the training environment.

Brand Artefacts in Premises

Interior Signage: Prominently displayed within the gym, the signage incorporates the logo against the stark, energising red background, catching the eye and centring the brand in the minds of athletes and visitors.

Equipment Branding: Each piece of gear is carefully branded with the logo, turning functional equipment into brand ambassadors. This ensures that every punch thrown is a reminder of the Premier Boxing & Muay Thai ethos.

Decorative Elements: The walls feature murals and graphics that echo the branding, creating an immersive environment where art and sport intersect to create a singularly focused atmosphere conducive to training and development.

Brand Messaging Through Design

The carefully curated artefacts within Premier Boxing & Muay Thai’s premises are designed to communicate a narrative of excellence, discipline, and passion. Each element, from the signage to the equipment, encapsulates the centre’s dedication to nurturing champions.

The Dean

The Dean – From strategy to sophisticated

The dean is a restaurant based out of Merseyside. The restaurant is a high-end boutique restaurant serving five-star food. The premises were in development when the Dean started their project. The Art Direction was set based on the food and type of premises the client was looking to create.

The signage created by the team at Blue Whale Media was to establish the client as a restaurant. We needed to make them easy to identify from people passing as the premises is on a busy prominent location. The customised fonts incorporated a restaurant icon to help establish the presence. We then also ensure that the Art Direction was followed with the gold engraving feature which pulls into the gold interior and features used throughout the premises.

Optical Revolution

Optical Revolution – Branding you didn’t “see” coming

Optical Revolution is a new brand established off the back of independent optical retailers. The aim was to bring the independent stores under one styling so they could become a division business. They are mainly focusing on high-end eye care with all patients receiving an enhanced examination.

Blue Whale Media Ltd created the logo and colour concepts for the company. We opted for a clean professional look but stayed clear of the medical colours of blue and green as we didn’t want to establish an everyday brand feel and wanted the company to feel more exclusive. We ensured the Art Direction continued through to the inhouse posters created for aesthetics to ensure that the premises all followed the Art Direction.

Alex's Bakery

Alex’s Bakery- A branding legend in the baking

The Art Direction for Alex’s Bakery had been set from an idea of a fun and exciting brand that was enticing as Alex’s Bakery has a café from on a prominent street in Manchester.

The Art Direction was based on the bright pink but also incorporates other colours from a similar tone. The packaging used for the products in café and via their online store incorporates a lot of suspense packaging which provides an expensive feel to the products. The in café feel compliments the website as the same font styles, backgrounds and feature aesthetics are used throughout the premises.
